ONLINE INFORMATION AGENCY OF THE SOCIALIST REPUBLIC OF VIETNAM GOVERNMENT

Vietnam Customs is responsible for the State management over Customs with activities of import and export, entry, exit and transit, tax policy for import, export goods. With examination and supervision of the implementation of tax laws on import and export goods, Vietnam Customs has united efforts with other State management agencies in order to offer domestic and foreign enterprises an equal business environment.

The Vietnam Environment Protection Agency (VEPA) was established as per Decision No. 14/2005/QD-BTNMT dated 2 December 2005 by the Minister of Natural Resources and Environment. VEPA performs the functions of assisting the Minister of Natural Resources and Environment in execution of State management tasks regarding environmental protection including such areas as examination, supervision, prevention, mitigation and remediation of environmental pollution, degradation and incidents; improvement of environmental quality; conservation of bio-diversity; environmental monitoring; application of technologies; developing databases, statistics, information and reports on environment; implementing integrated coastal zone management; and education to enhance the awareness of the community on environment.

The Ministry of Information and Communications of Socialist Republic of Vietnam is the policy-maker and state regulator in the field of press, publication; posts and postal delivery; telecommunications and Internet; transmission; radio frequency; information technology, electronics; broadcasting and national information infrastructure; public services of all sectors, fields under its legal functions.

The Ministry of Planning and Investment is a government agency which is charged with the role of state management over the domain of planning and investment, that consists of: providing comprehensive advice on the country-level socio-economic development strategies, programs and plans, on economic management mechanisms and policies for the national economy and for specific sectors, on domestic and foreign investments, industrial and export-processing zones, on management of official development assistance (in short ODA) sources, national-wide control of procurement, enterprises, business registration. The Ministry is also entrusted with exercing the role of state management over public services provided in sectors belonging to the Ministry's mandate under valid legislation.
